The Great Plains Storm Chase of 08

Day 1:

Well, we are off on the Great Plains Storm Chase of 08. Looks to be a promising start for the Texarkana area since the SPC has already put us under a moderate risk. Soon after departing El Derado, AR we ran into some slight precip. The atmosphere in the van is kinda dry, but Tori Shaw and I are making the best of the situation by jamming to Dido on the ipod. After passing Paris, TX we came across the only isolated super cell in the country. We watched the super cell intensify above us. We acquired several beautiful pics of the building Cumulus tower of the super cell. Moments later... on the highway, we were passed by blownawaytours.com. As it grew dark, we settled in a Holiday Inn in Ardmore, OK around 10:30. I knew I was in OK when I saw that the hotel provided a storm shelter.
