Yesterday, I finally did one of the things that I couldn't wait for, yet have been trying to put off for quite sometime. I got on the wall in front of Spann. This was a big day for me...and yes, in his words I looked "tense". I was! Beforehand Ashley B had watched and helped me several times. By the time it was my turn to shine, I was pleased with the result. He stopped me about 3 times to correct my Fayette lingo on words such as "five" and "sittin". He pointed out that my Fayette accent was thus far my biggest enemy, and with practice I could get rid of it in 6 months. In the fall I am taking a voice and articulation class, so I'm hoping that will help as well. Even though I was nervous under pressure I was pleased with the outcome and the things he had to say. I know that I have a year of hard work ahead to get there, but that extra perk from Spann will help boost me on my way. Practice is the key, and I intend to do a lot of it.
