Day 10:
We got up early so we could leave out by 8:00 to go to a couple of different museums. The first one we went to was Carlsbad Caverns. Once we got to the top of the mountain...the view was spectacular. The eighteen of us crammed ourselves in an elevator and descended 750ft into the Earth. The cave was lots of fun and I felt like I was in the movie the Goonies. After seeing plenty of stalactites and stalagmites we drove to Roswell, TX to meet the aliens. The museum didn't have a lot to offer except some news articles on the wall, but we had a great time taking pictures with alien dummies. I wasn't familiar with the Roswell incident until reading about it in the museum. Supposedly, on July 4, 1947 a man named Mac Brazel saw a large crash. The next day he went to check it out and found debris. He investigated the debris and then took it to the local sheriff. They examined the field again and found three bodies. The story leaked through the press and the government found out about it and took charge. One of the bodies was examined in a hospital, yet anyone who was an eyewitness was suddenly pronounced dead in order to cover up the incident. Another possibility is that it could have been a weather balloon and some dummies. What do you believe?
